Dear Ho-Ho-Kus School Parents,
Welcome to the 2015-16 school year! I am thrilled to be writing you this letter as your new Superintendent of Schools. As many of you know, I have returned to Ho-Ho-Kus after having been a principal in Waldwick. Though many things have changed in education these past four years, and school districts and educators have faced many challenges, some things still remain the same. Ho-Ho-Kus School continues to be a dynamic, caring, learning community where students are encouraged to be the best they can be both academically and with good character. The teachers and staff members are energetic, hard-working, and committed to providing their students with an excellent education. The Board of Education is highly supportive and continually endeavors to craft an optimal school system while facing more and more fiscal constraints. The Education Foundation and Home and School Association are notable for their dedication to our school and students; their significant contributions to program and technology have been truly remarkable! And finally, you, the parents, continue to support and encourage your children while working in concert with us. We know that the foundation for a stellar school system is a strong partnership between the school members, parents, and community. When we work together we can accomplish so much!
As part of our goal to develop a vision for the future and continue moving forward to meet the challenges of the 21st century, the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education is inviting the community to assist in creating a strategic plan. We hope that you will join us at 7:30 PM in the Media Center on October 15 and November 12. All community members are welcome.
Our school theme this year is TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More. Along with Dr. Eckert and Mrs. Walsh, I welcome you to this “championship” year! I look forward to partnering with you to make this a wonderfully memorable year for all.
Dr. Diane G. Mardy
